Walled herb terrace
This curved stone wall acts as a retaining wall for the terraced herb garden at a private country house.
A semi-circular wall was built on sloping land and the area in front of it was filled in to create a levelled herb garden with a seating area at this country house in Sweden. The wall is built from local stone and is 120 centimetres high, 60 cm thick and 20 metres long with a solid concrete foundation. Its curvature mimics that of the beech hedge at the bottom of the garden.
